Pittsburgh 250 activities get funding (Pittsburgh Business Times)

The Pittsburgh Business Times reported on the Pittsburgh 250 Community Connections project selection process.

Some 100 projects planned for Pittsburgh’s 250th anniversary received a total of $1 million in funding Wednesday. Community Connections, an initiative of Pittsburgh 250 administered by The Sprout Fund, picked 100 projects out of the more than 500 plans submitted, according to a news release.

The projects all have a “pride and progress of southwestern Pennsylvania” motif, to fit with the theme of Community Connections. The Sprout Fund is guiding Community Connections, which funds artistic projects to celebrate the city’s 250th anniversary, for the Allegheny Conference on Community Development.
